Hi,

I believe you are referring to the default SNMP options (accessible under
Options
®SNMP...) when you say "main device poll". The other two choices
are:

IP address wildcards
Specific Nodes

The answer you are looking for (I believe) is that all polling
configurations set in the SNMP Options window are handled on a per node
basis. The specific nodes will take precedence over the other two (default
and IP address wildcards). When netmon starts, it reads in the
configuration for status polling (actually done with ICMP) and applies the
configuration on a per node basis. If you have a node that is within a IP
address wildcard (which has certain polling parameters) and is also listed
under Specific Nodes (with different polling parameters), the Specific Node
polling parameters take precedence. Hope this helps.

What about my second question ?

Hello,

I believe you should be able to create a smartset of all the unwanted
devices and unmanage them. This should stop the polling on the unwanted
devices.

I'm using 5.1 for NT, Is there anyway to stop the polling of unwanted
devices?
Does the SNMP specific device poll override the main device poll ? Thanks
in advance.
