Hi list,
As our number of network printers with an IP stack is growing, I'd like to
automatically unmanage them when they are discovered by Netview (v5.1, AIX
4.3).

They're all using an HP JetDirect interface, so they all have the same SNMP
oid.
I simply added the entry below in the oid_to_type file :

1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.1:Hewlett-Packard:HP Network Printer:U

(plus ovw -config and restart of the daemons)

Unfortunately this is not working.
The printers stay in the managed state when they are discovered :-(
It's quite easy to test, as I just have to delete a printer from the (only)
map
and let Netview rediscover it.

Am I missing something here, or is this a bug with 5.1 ?

Thanks a lot for any hints !
Cheers,
Luca
