Netview's just going to ping each IP interface; if it remains reacheable,
Netview will report "up". You'll probably have to rely on the smarts of the
router to send a trap to Netview when this occurs and take some
action/notification based on that.

Subject: netview 5.1/nt and frame relay

Has anyone had any experience using netview 5.1/nt (or any other version,
for that matter) over a frame relay network? In particular, how well
netview handles (or doesn't) virtual interfaces. We're currently running
this configuration, and I'm trying to understand/improve on how netview
detects virtual circuits going down (i.e., given a network with multiple
virtual path between points a and b, if any one path goes down, as long as
traffic continues to be passed between those two paths, netview reports the
status of the connection as "up".) Is this just a feature of netview that I
have to live with, or is another option available? Many thanks,
