Have you looked for a core file?  It would most likely be in the home
directory of the user who started the GUI or in the directory he/she was
cd'd to when they started it, if they have write access to it.   If you
find one, type in
     od -c  core 0x6b0  |   head
and it  should give you a storage array which will spell out the name of
the coring process if that could be determined.  If it is ovw_binary, or
some other NetView process then call Support.


Don't find a core?  Then let's see if it is related to the Motif problem in
4.3.  Try typing this in before starting the GUI and see if it prevents the
problem:
     export LIBPATH=/usr/lpp/X11/lib/R5:$LIBPATH

Dear Experts,
We recently installed Netview 5.1 on AIX4.2.1 and get the following error
frequently, and most often while/or immediately after navigating the
Netview screens:

All of the maps disappear
Only one grey square is left
Terminal Screen Displays:
ovw: BadAccess ( attempt to access private resource is denied)

Restarting the ovw session fixes the problem 'til next occurance,
ovstop/start is not necessary.

The AIX box is an H50 with 2 cpus and 1 gig of memory.  Swap is at 1 gig.
Max process' per user at 256.  No other applications running on the box.
