The new NetView install has the old NetView's address.

Are you using an snmp-server host (address) statement in your router
config?   It might be pointing to the old server ... just a thought or try
adding it if it doesn't have it already.

I did use ovobjprint -s <devicename>. It does not show up in the database,
but I can do a snmpwalk from the command line.
Still stumped. Any suggestions are great.

Have you actually tested to make sure the connectivity and community
strings
are OK (using snmpget and/or the MIB browser) from the new box?  This can
help determine if the problem is in communications or with Netview.

Also, when you say that you cannot discover the router, do you mean that it
is not showing up on the map, or you have verified that the router (all
interfaces) do not show up anywhere in the databases?  If you have not
checked the databases, I'd use ovobjprint and ovtopdump to see if the
object
or any of its interfaces may be in the database incorrectly (and use
ovtopofix to correct).

Hello all,

NetView V5.1 Install

Background information: The customer is upgrading from NetView V3.1 to
V5.1.
The older machine has the same IP address (they are not on the network at
the same time). When I try to discover the network I cannot discover one of
their Cisco Routers. I have discovered another router with the same Cisco
code (11.2.15A). The SNMP community strings are correct, but it's strange
because the older version of NetView shows the device. Also, the customer
has an access list on each router, but the older machine is still able the
see the device. Any suggestions would be great.
