The following procedure will cause the events application to be
iconified each time it is started.

In /$HOME/.Xdefaults -or- /usr/OV/app-defaults:
    nvevents.outside : True
    nvevents.loadEnvOnInit : True

In the Events Application window pull-down: Options-->Save Environment
Next time you exit the Events application the following file will be
created:
    $HOME/NvEnvironment/Workspaces

Edit the $HOME/NvEnvironment/Workspaces file:
Change: Initial Normal to Initial Iconic

Sample File:
----------------------------------------
Workspace Main
Label ""
Dimensions 0069 0106 0800 0480
Initial Iconic
Presentation CARDS
FreezeResolution False
FilterButton False
RingBellButton False
FreezeButton False
ActiveFilters None
EndWorkspace
-----------------------------------------

You may experience a problem if you also set this option:
    nvevents.saveEnvOnExit : True

This will cause the Workspaces file to be re-written each time
you exit NetView (events).
(This will save all of your dynamic workspaces, event filters, etc)

Experiment with this if you like, support denies there is a bug/problem.

However, my experience is that if you set "nvevents.saveEnvOnExit :
True"
"Initial Iconic" always gets changed back to "Initial Normal", even if
the events application is iconified when it is closed.
