I really don't understand why you still get node up/down traps after
unmanaging the devices, but to discover non-SNMP devices as "unmanaged"
add:

DEFAULT_IP:  :  :U

to /usr/OV/conf/oid_to_type (note, the spaces after the colons are
important) and restart netmon to pick up the change. Another alternative
might be to use a seedfile to not even discover them. I didn't catch
which version of NetView you are running - let us know if you need
information on how to use a seedfile.
