Right, I think that is the issue here - cross-platform support. The Tivoli
Desktop for Windows will launch GUIs for Tivoli products on the NT box,
provided those apps have a local GUI. But it will not launch the NetView
GUI for a NetView running on a UNIX box. You need an X-emulator for that.
I believe (because I haven't tried it) that the Desktop for Windows can
launch the NetView for NT GUI if NetView for NT is installed on the box.

Well, Shari, we will have to review that part in the morning. I think we
launched it
from a TME 10 Desktop, but it was not the Desktop for Windows. It was a
Rumba
X-emulation session to the TMR Server (rlogin) that exported the display
and
launched a TME 10 Desktop (for Unix). From that Desktop, we launched
Netview
which is running on a Managed Node. I think.

Cordially,

I just installed Netview 5.1 on AIX 4.3.1 (with much appreciated help
from
Leslie Clark of IBM!) We were able to bring up the Netview interface
from
     the Tivoli desktop!

ALL:

You cannot start Netview user interface using the TME 10
Desktop for Windows. I found this out testing and Tivoli Support
confirm. Good luck with your implementation.
