Re: Latest Version of Optivity

Thanks David! Is there a target date for the GA release of Optivity v9.0?
I have a requirement to migrate my NV platform to v5.1 ASAP. I will not be
loading v5.0 in the interim and IBM would like to pull support on NV v4.1
in November '98.
James, it would be nice (customer focused) if IBM/Tivoli would postpone
the end of support of NV v4.1 until the end of Q1 '99. It seems that many
vendors software is not ready to support NV v5.1. Is this possible? Would
there need to be some majority of customer requests to make this happen?

Hi Ken,
Optivity NMS 9.0 will be the first version to support NV 5.1. NMS 8.1.1
will support the same platforms that the NMS 8.1 platform did.
AIX 4.2.1 is officially supported. Bay Networks will, whenever fiscally
possible, support maintenance releases of any platforms or Operating
systems for use with Optivity applications. A maintenance release is
defined as a change in the third decimal point of a version number.
