Joe -

I think you already know the answer to this. Unless you were to intercept
all traps and re-issue your own with this information in the variables (and
you could do this with snmptrap) and forward only those to TEC, this could
not be done.
The slot mappings for a trap can be changed in xnmtrap to put whatever
attributes there are present into the forwarded TEC alert, but you cannot
put in what is not there. So you would have to have a ruleset which would
capture a trap (say Node Down for example), and run a script to determine
the collection info you want, and then issue a new trap of your own
devising. Then your TEC ruleset would forward only that trap and others
like it.

It is a lot of work. You'll have to decide whether is worth it.

Subject: Changing format for Events to T/EC

Is there a way to change the format of ALL NV events that get forwarded
to T/EC to send a specific NV variable(s)? We would like to send the NV
collection names of ALL collections that the node belongs to when
specific event(s) is forwarded to T/EC. I know we can use the "nvUtil"
command to determine these NV collection name values, but how can we get
these value(s) into a meaningful variable(s) that we could forward to
T/EC and T/EC would understand and translate appropriately? Thanks,
