The backup/restore procedure documented below assumes that the daemons on both
machines are
configured the same way. Daemon configuration is not saved in the database
directory (guess you
figured that out...)  I'm thinking specifically of the configuration of the
netmon daemon to use a seedfile.
Try it again. It should work.

Hello!  I followed James' backup/restore procedure, below, and it worked
great.  With one exception.  Netmon apparently totally ignored my seed
file, and discovered the ENTIRE network on top of the database I copied
over to the new system.  Any ideas on why this happened, and how I can
prevent it from happening next time?
