OK....I've done many things suggested here.
nbemmcmd -listhosts:
server machine_A
master machine_A
media machine_B (which is good, right?)

Then...bptestbpcd........
came back with NB_MACHINE_TYPE = MEDIA _SERVER

Now the master see's the media server "machine_B"
But it is only active for disk....not for disk and tape. 

I'm still trying to work my way through this.
