I am in complete control of the subnet and attached hosts, so that will not be a problem.  I also see this as a good opportunity to force all of the clients to use DNS.  Always becomes an issue at DR every year.

The key is keeping the same hostname for the master server NBU doesn’t care which IP address is used so long as its is resolvable and it can connect to it. If going to jumbo framing make sure ALL of the layer 2 attached servers also support use of jumbo framing or your performance will go from bad to worse.

I am moving my master server to new hardware, but am keeping the hostname.  I am also want to change the IP address and naturally have the DNS record changed as well.  I wish to move it to a subnet that utilizes jumbo frames.  Aside of all of the hardcoded clients that will become immediately known, is there any other pitfalls that I may encounter with this?
