Good Afternoon,

I have some questions.
Are you using luns defined on emc storage.
Does the emc storage have the vss support installed.
Does your policy include the system state (this may be called something else
like shadow copy ...)
If yes to these, is the lun for the windows system disk (normally c:) share a
volume with other luns.
Did the volume fill.
Did the snapshot cache area fill.

i am having the same exact problem. my master and media are windows 2003 sp2
with NB 7.1. i have three win 2003 sp2 clients x64 with different nb versions
installed 7.1, 6.5.6, and 6.5.5. they are all failing with the same problem.
parent stream runs long and then eventually fails out. i enabled the bpbfis
log and found this at the bottom:

14:03:07.452 [5188.6052] <2> onlfi_vfms_logf: INF - snapshot services:
emcsymfi:Wed Jun 22 2011 14:03:07.452000 <Thread id - 6052> Execption occured
while closing handles
14:03:07.452 [5188.6052] <2> onlfi_vfms_logf: INF - snapshot services:
emcsymfi:Wed Jun 22 2011 14:03:07.452000 <Thread id - 6052> execSymCLI :
Command output
14:03:07.452 [5188.6052] <2> onlfi_vfms_logf: INF - snapshot services:
emcsymfi:Wed Jun 22 2011 14:03:07.452000 <Thread id - 6052> Gate keeper is
locked. Releasing the lock on the gate keeper.
14:03:07.452 [5188.6052] <2> onlfi_vfms_logf: INF - snapshot services:
emcsymfi:Wed Jun 22 2011 14:03:07.452000 <Thread id - 6052> Failed to create
child process

this just repeats over and over. policy is a regular "windows" policy and not
snapshot. anybody ever experience this before?
