Re: [Veritas-bu] NetBackup 7.0 FileConnect Downloads

Thanks, all, for the Windows document
(Which I do see on FileConnect), but I was looking for specific Unix instructions.
I ended up getting it worked out, but asked Symantec about the entry in
the guide whice alludes to another Readme for Unix:
The ESDimages forNetBackup 7.0 are available
for download fromthe FileConnect
Web page. The images adhere to a 1.8G
size limitation.
The following describes how the images
for each platform can be downloaded:
Compressed .tar files (gzip) are posted.
AReadme file on FileConnect describes
the following points:
■ The images you must download to install
NetBackup or
OpsCenter.
■ The images you must organize and download
to create
a local DVD image.
■ Howto create a local file sharewith
a directory structure
that allows installation of NetBackup,
OpsCenter, and
clients on multiple platforms.
They weren't aware of a readme for unix
but are looking in to it.

Here's the instructions for the Windows files. You can use the same process
as needed elsewhere.
For Electronic Software Distribution (ESD) ease of download,
The Windows image has been split into smaller, more managable files.
Download both image files and then use the following command to
Join them back into a usable .zip file.
Windows joining instructions:
copy /b "ESD_NB_7.0_Win_FA.zip.1of2"+"ESD_NB_7.0_Win_FA.zip.2of2"
"ESD_NB_7.0_Win_FA.zip"
Unix joining instructions:
cat "ESD_NB_7.0_Win_FA.zip.1of2" "ESD_NB_7.0_Win_FA.zip.2of2"
> "ESD_NB_7.0_Win_FA.zip"
To validate that you have the correct resulting file, use md5sum
and ensure your number matches the below value.
MD5sum utilities can be downloaded from many sites, choose one that
you trust.
