As you said this catalog is outdated for more than 3 years probably the 
NetBackup used was version 5.x or 4.x. Other information is about name server, 
the new server has a different name, which indicates that you made a new 
installation not a upgrade.
      The best to do is import the tapes, you will no get to merge the old 
catalog with new catalog.

Update:

I actually found the old server but it won't boot (redhat 7.1)

I was able to mount the filesystems to try and grab the catalog.  Where could I 
look?

i have access to /usr/openv/netbackup
