Java is part of netbackup 7. At least at the beta2 (I just
check and install it)

I agree, Ed.
The same rep did tell me that the Java GUI will eventually go away. And since
Ops Center will be/is web based, I would assume that would make the Windows
Admin Console go away as well. I was glad to hear that the GUIs will be
sticking around, as I had thought we were getting forced to use a new GUI after
the entire life of the product (or most of it) using the classic GUI style.

On another
note, I had been under the impression that OpsCenter (similar to NOM) was the
new and only way to manage NetBackup. I was corrected by a Symantec Rep who
stated that the classic Java GUI (and I would assume the classic Windows Admin
Console) is still available. Just throwing that out there for anyone else who
thought the same way I did.
My *guess* is that the older GUIs will eventually be phased out. It does
not make sense for Symantec to have FOUR separate interfaces that all need to
be continually updated (CLI, Java, Windows Admin Console, OpsCenter). I
personally think that we'll always have a CLI but that OpsCenter will replace
the other two. I have no facts to back that up.
