Hi Michele.

When selecting the NBD (Network Block Device) style of backup, no additional configuration tasks are required for the NFS based Datastore.  The NBD style of backup also works for direct attached storage (DAS) based Datastores as well.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] VCB over NBD

Has anyone used NBD (instead of SAN) as the transport type for a VCB policy?  What other configuration is needed (other than the policy setting) for this?  Is NFS involved?  I’m trying to find some detailed info on how this process works over NBD  specifically.

Thanks

Michele
