You should jump up to 6.5.3.1 soon as you can. There were alot of fixes with 
BMR from 6.5-6.5.3.1

I just started testing BMR with 6.5.4 and it seems good so far.

You want everything patched up current as possible, master, media, boot 
servers, shared resource trees so that all current fixes are available during 
the entire BMR process.


That is weird it works from command line...that seems like a bug to me..
