[Veritas-bu] Logs for Restoration
2009-07-28 12:03:52
there are two logs: user_ops console log and the TAR log.
the user_ops path would be for the user that is performing the restore.
Navigate to:
/usr/openv/netbackup/logs/user_ops/ and then select the user directory who
perofrmed the restore. files are under the logs directory.
e.g. /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/user_ops/jsmith/logs
If you haven't restarted NBU, then you can get the admin console log from the
gui itself. under the backup, archive, restore window of the console the task
progress would list the logs for the restore for the logged in user. CTRL+A in
the detail, then CTRL+C to copy the contents to your clipboard. This only
works if it's not a very large restore.
the TAR log directory, /usr/openv/netbackup/logs/tar, would be useful to
support, but you would need to set verbose logging. This is on the client. If
the restore is user driven on the client, then you need to set the permissions
to allow the user to write to the directory. chmod 1777 tar.
