Thanks for the info Bryan.

I have just changed the file path to \\.\F: and ran a test and i'm still 
getting 'WRN - can't lock raw device for read: \\.\F: (F:) (Win32 5: 
Access is denied. )

I take it there's not other flash ways without advanced client license.
