The easy way so you don’t have to edit the registry

Open up the BAR on the windows client.

Go to File/Specify Netbackup Machines….

Edit Server List

Make sure your master and all media servers are listed.

I have Netbackup 5.0MP7 (dont ask, due for upgrade shortly). with

A status 58 usually means that either the master server or the media server is not listed in the client's bp.conf (or the registry in the case of Windows clients).  If you need to, you can go into regedit and change the server list and then restart the NetBackup service.

Is the master also the media server?  If the master can connect but the media server can't, the easiest thing to do is to push out a new server list with bpsetconfig from the master (we see this a lot).
