I have a Windows Server 2003 server as my NBU server and a mixed
Windows/Linux client environment. I am running NBU 6.5 on the W2K3 backup
server. I was able to get the two Windows clients configured with no
problems and I was also able to get five of the seven Linux clients
configured. The remaining two are not seen by NBU.
I created policies for each of my nine clients. When I got to the
point of selecting the “Client to be backed up,” I double-clicked
on the small, blue computer icon and a network tree popped, showing all the
clients that NBU could see. Two of the Linux clients were not on there
and I have been unable to get them to show up. Has anyone had this same problem?
Is it a NBU problem or a network config problem?
Each Linux client had the same “image” put on it and they
all have the correct/same NBU client installed. I have verified the name
resolution is correct (bpclntcmd), updated all hosts tables just to be safe,
re-installed the client, stopped/started services and rebooted the NBU server,
as well as the clients.
