How many streams does your policy run for this data you mention.
The multiplexing refers to having more then one job(stream) going to a
tape drive. If you are only running one job, it has no reason to use
two tape drives.
Based on what you set up: SU=2 drives and each drive can have 2 streams
it would take 3 concurrent running streams before it would use the
second drive.

Subject: [Veritas-bu] How to backup to multiple drives
I have a two drive library (msl 5000) with two LTO2 drives. When I
backup large data I would like it to split the data up and backup using
both drives. Is this a possibility? I've been googling and found
multiplexing and I think I have enabled multiplexing or the storage unit
and set Max concurent write drives to 2 and checked the enable
multiplexing box and set maximum streams per drive to 2. But my backup (
sent via command line) is still only using one drive.
Is there a point where NBU makes a decision on when to utilize the
second drive?
