Re: [Veritas-bu] Netbackup 6, MP4 and error 41 (network timeout)

41's usually indicate the network has
just 'gone away' between the client and media server. We usually
see this on server reboots or if there's an issue with the client NIC.
Turn up client logging (make sure you have space since it's a large filesystem)
and see where that leads you. You'll probably find that it's a NIC driver
problem. Can you sustain a large file transfer from this host's interface
to some other location (preferably media server) without problems?

41 (network timeout) |
|
We have a quite large file server (almost
2TB worth of data) and lately it's been terminating the full backups with
error 41 (network timeout). Assuming there's no discernable problem with
the actual network, what could this be about? Is there something I can
adjust to stop this or does this usually just point at a networking issue?
The server is Windows Server 2003 SP2 (as
is the Master).
Cheers,
