Agreed, and logging has been enabled, but in most cases, its because
there is nothing to back up.

But if I terminate the job, and get a status 150, this still seems to
stop the job from re-running 2 hours later.

But it does kick in the following day!

Simon,

Error 6 in database land can mean 100 different things, I suggest
turning on debugging and check the database backup logs to see what the
real error is first.
