I am upgrading a handful of clients now that run Full backups every
night.  On one hand I really do want to find the fix, but on the other
hand, I'm not looking forward to trying to upgrade 700 clients before
Thanksgiving :)

I would first recommend moving to 6.5.2a and any further problems you
may 
need engineering-binary fixes or wait for 6.5.3 if 6.5.2a does not solve

your issues.  A lot of those problems are known 196s etc I believe
6.5.2a 
fixed a lot of them, another issue is the calendaring bug if you have a 
schedule (calendar based) that starts at or ends on midnight (00:00).
