[Veritas-bu] Backup Exec Restore

All,

I know this is a Netbackup forum, but I have a critical issue with an old Backup Exec system and I was hoping someone could help. We are needing to restore some Exchange Backups. The way I am planning on doing this is to redirect the data to a local drive and restoring using a third party Recovery tool. We do not have an Exchange environment to restore to, so I am selecting File Redirect.

The job almost immediately fails with the following error.

Completed status: Failed

Final error: 0xa000848c - Unable to attach to one of the drives.

Final error category: Resource Errors

I am able to restore other types of data, but nothing from the exchange backups.

We are currently a Netbackup shop and no longer have support for Backup Exec, and even if we did, the version we are on is no longer supported. I very much appreciate any and all responses. And to those of you who read this and were expecting a Netbackup question, I do apologize.
