My confidence level for a Solaris 9 64bit master working
with a Windows 2008 media server is low despite the official Symantec
support.

fact that the support staff has agreed to help with this issue and the pdf at

leads me to believe that a Window
2008 x64 can be used as a media
server at level 6.5.2.

of a media server on Windows 2008 has yet to be successful.
I believe that if you check the compatibility chart you'll see that this is
not yet supported - only Windows 2008 clients are currently supported. Win 2k8
as a server won't be supported until the next major release and that's still a
long way off (2nd half of '09).
