A couple of times now when doing a long alternate server/alternate path restore Ive seen the speed of the restore drop dramatically (e.g. from around 24 to 26 MB/s to around 600 KB/s) then speed up on occasion but generally stay in that low range.

Normally weve seen the former range and weve been doing this for the 4 years Ive been here and in that time have gone from 4.5 to 5.1 to 6 to 6.5.  While Ive seen many a media failure or other event interfere with such long running restores this weird speed change is something new and Ive seen it on a couple of different servers.

This is on HP-UX 11i.

Does anyone have an idea why this would suddenly be occurring?   Is there any known issue in NBU 6.5 that would cause me to see this?

This morning Ive stopped/started NBU including PBXExchange on the media server and restarted.   At present speed seems normal but then again the restore started yesterday did at first as well.
