Subject: [Veritas-bu] 6.5.2 Windows GUI Bug - UP/DOWN Drives?
I've only got one 6.5.2 config and its a master/media combo on
Windows 2003 with two LTO3 drives shared via SSO. When I select the
second drive to up or down it, the gui only reconfigures the first drive.
So for example this afternoon I had to reboot the library. Both drives
went into a down state on the gui. Selecting the picture of drive 001
brought up a notification box to up the paths to drive 000. If I go
ahead and up these paths, drive 000 goes up and drive 001 stays down. The
only way that I can figure out to up (or down) drive 001 is to use
vmoprcmd. I opened a ticket on this last time it happened and the support
engineer said he wasn't aware of a bug. I was a bit busy at the time so I
didn't pursue it further. Today it happened again. My plan is to
upgrade another environment next week to 6.5.2 so I can check on that
environment, but is this happening to anyone else? The GUI still doesn't
refresh so you'll have to Refresh All or use vmoprcmd to check.
PS: I'm sure this is part of an evil and subtle Symantec plot to
make us all use the command line by making the GUI unusable. =P
