Jon,
You’re correct.. each catalog backup kicks off 4 separate jobs.

Catalog backup = 4 separate jobs??? (Netbackup 6.5)
|

When I kick off a Hot Catalog backup, it
creates 4 separate jobs. Is
that normal?
All 4 jobs finish successfully. Looking into the detailed status of
each of them:
1. The first job issues a 'DBM Query' and verifies the image.
2. The second job seems to be staging and validating the database
files inside of c:\prog files\veritas\netbackupdb\staging\
3. The third job seems to simply be gaining the resources to one of
the tape drives
4. The last job seems to be the one that mounts, positions and writes to
tape.
I've used netbackup 4.x forever, and I'm finally building a new box
with a fresh install of 6.5 on it.
Everything else seems to be working perfect, but this just seems odd.
Maybe it's okay?
Thank in advance,
Jon
.
