Well install the client that came with the software, and either use the
directive ALL LOCAL DRIVES, or stream the job.
What OS is the Domain Controller, Win2k or Win2k3 or NT4 ?
If it is NT4, then the C: Drive needs to be backed up
If it is Win2k, then ensure that the directive "System State" is
selected - this includes Active Directory configuration, as well as
Sysvol, clusterDB, IIS, registry and system protected files.
If it is a Win2k3 Server, ensure that the directive "Shadow Copy
Components" is selected. This includes all of the above.
In all cases, I would strongly recommend the C: drive also be included
in your backups. (where the operating system resides)
Details should be visible in the System Admin Guide though (at least I
think it is still!)
NOTE: It is worth noting that Win2k3 Servers do recognise the "System
State" directive, but for peace of mind I create seperate policies for
my Win2k3 and at the time, Win2k Domain Controllers. Win2k Server DO NOT
know about Shadow Copy Components!
Also, if the All Local Drives is selected (ALD), I think NetBackup does
include the System state / Shadow Copy Components Directive.
I do not have any exposure to 6.0, so the above is from a 5.1 experience
only, but they should be pretty much like for like for 6 and 6.5.1 (or
even 6.5.2 for that matter!)
