Which begs the question - can we install both versions of the GUI on a
single Windows workstation?

We have multiple masters here including a small 5.1 mast that we don't
intend to upgrade because it is backing up clients that don't exist in
6.x.

Workaround question: Can a Windows 5.1 master be made to export an
X-window GUI to a X-Windows client (e.g. Exceed) on a Windows
workstation like the UNIX master could?

If you are asking if you can use the 6.5.x version of the Java GUI with
a
previous version of NetBackup, the answer is no and this is expected
behavior. None of the Java GUIs are compatible with other versions.
Until
you upgrade, continue to use the 5.x version. Once the upgrade is done
you
will have to use the 6.5.x and won't be able to use the 5.x GUI.

We are getting ready to upgrade from 5.1 MP5/6 to NBU 6.5.1. However
when
we install the Windows Java Gui to our desktops it fails saying that a
DLL
is missing. When we fix the DLL issue we get an error saying that the
6.5.1
Java Gui is incompatible with the 5.1 MP5/6 systems. Any one else seen
this
behavior before ?? Thanks....
