I think I could get a shell prompt from most
Unix systems using NetBackup, as long as they had xterm available somewhere.
=====start script====
#!/bin/sh
DISPLAY=whereiam
export DISPLAY
/appropriate-path/xterm
=====end script====
Remember: background checks on your backup
admin are a good thing

through veritas
Hello,
Does
anyone know if there's a way to get a shell prompt through Veritas Netbackup
using telnet? If this is possible, does the media server control the password
and can this password be changed. Also, what username does netbackup use and
why isn't it in /etc/passwd? (Does Netbackup use a shell when it backs up
clients and can this shell be accessed manually using telnet to log into a
client.)
Thanks,
Dirk
