>From the NetBackup 6.5 Installation Guide for
Unix, p. 14:
Symantec does not support installation
of NetBackup in an NFS-mounted
directory. File locking in
NFS-mounted file systems can be
unreliable.
p. 30
Note: Symantec does not support
installing the EMM on an
NFS-mount.
>From the NetBackup 6.5 Admin Guide for Windows, p.
347, discussing catalog backup to disk:
The NetBackup binary image catalog is
more sensitive to the location of the
catalog. Catalog backups that are
stored on a remote file system may
have critical performance issues.
NetBackup does not support saving
catalogs to a remote file system such as NFS or CIFS.
p. 349, regarding relocating the image catalog:
Note: NetBackup does not support saving
the catalog to a remote file system.
Therefore, Symantec advises against
moving the image catalog to a remote
file system such as NFS or
CIFS.
