Errr....do you have any mount points on a drive that reference data on
another drive???

ie. D:\pointer -> E:\data

If so, the you do NOT want to "cross mount points", or you will get data
backed up multiple times, as you say.

If the mount point points to another server, then I would think you'd
want to back the data up where it lives instead.
If you're crossing a mount point in this case, then you're actually
backing up data from a third remote host....which will increase the
apparent total data backed up for a given client.

I have yet to find many reasons for crossing mount points that I would
consider.

Just wonder what your reasons are. Maybe we can come up with a better
solution.
