Have you tried the backup already?  If so, what are the policy settings and how 
fast are your drives streaming?

LTO3 is rated for 70MB/sec native..more if the data compresses well, so make 
sure your backup server has at least 1000Mbps network connection and same goes 
for the client.  If your drives are streaming that fast or better already, you 
might be able to make it go faster by aggregating a second gigabit link on both 
servers to remove that bottleneck.  Then you could try to get two tape drives 
to do the backup by breaking up the backup selection in the policy into two 
chunks using the NEW_STREAM directive.
