Not been using 6.0 but I recall from Ed a while ago, that if there
is a defect in the product Symantec may release a patch or an update (assuming
there are no other MP out there yet).
You could exclude it from the policy completely (assuming ALD is
not in use). Trying new NICS may help.... but might be best to wait for a
response from Symantec.
And yes, the System State (or Shadow Copy components) is needed
:-) But understand the angle you are coming
from....

I am still battling with my Error 13’s…I have tried
everything short of replacing the nics…things I have done…
Updated NIC drivers…
Turned off Multistreaming…
Tried moving to VSS (this worked on one of my
servers)
Tried moving one of the affected servers to a new media
server.
I even put a call into Symantec…
Nothing has worked as of yet…HOWEVER, I did a test with
Mutlistreaming, I turned it on with a box that was not running Multistreaming
trying to narrow down where it fails. And it looks like it fails doing
the System State. My environment is totally Windows, running NBU 6.0
MP4. Now I ask is there a way to exclude the system state on a per
client basis? Not that I don’t what the System State, but right now the
data is more important. Also not to mention, I have been seeing more and
more partials where it won’t backup the system state. Bug in MP4 maybe…I
am sure 6.5 will be fixing all my problems…right?
