Anyone using de-dupe devices like Data Domain?  If so do you use VTL or DSSU?   If you use vtl is the licensing cost worth it and if so why?

We currently have a SAN environment (on the UNIX side) and were intending to add the Data Domains to it using VTL.   Were getting push back from vendor that it is better to do it all Gigabit ethernet and use DSSUs.

We see the cost of adding GB NICs to existing HP-UX and Linux servers on the one side and cost of VTL licensing on the other.   I gather VTL licensing is done by capacity but DSSU isnt?
