You know, when I said "Bible", I didn't really mean The Bible. Hehe. I just purchased Backup and Recovery. Upon opening the book, I read:
"This book is dedicated to those brave men and women who give themselves in service to our country. 'Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.' --John 15:13."
Hehe I come from a very a family of service men, but never would have expected such nice words in a Backup and Recovery book. Are the brave souls Storage Administrators? Hehe.

There is no bible; the topic is too broad and in flux too much for their to be a "bible", IMHO.
That written, I like (the four year old) Little & Chapa Wiley publication "Implementing Backup and Recovery: The Readiness Guide for
the Enterprise", as well as Preston's new O'Riley publication "Backup and Recovery", not to be confused with his older work "UNIX Backup and Recovery".
As Curtis Preston spends a considerable amount of his time here on this
mailing list and on his backupcentral.com web site helping us smucks do a better job for our institutions, ... if you buy just one, buy "Backup and Recovery". :-)
cheers, wayne
