Hi Simon,

My preferred choice is Solaris and from past experience it appears to
perform better. Less reboots required, more robust OS and able to support
more clients. Although I'm sure there's windows master servers out there
running quite well.

This is an environment that I've inherited and will be doing a refresh for
most of it.

This is the first time I have seen the issue mentioned previously and
hopefully the last. I'm wondering whether someone did something weird during
the upgrade, it's only been on version 6 for about 4 weeks.

Regards,

Dom

Dom
There is nothing wrong with the choice of your version of Windows - it comes
down to preferred choice, best solution, best platform, costs, planning,
design - I am sure you took all of this into consideration when NBU was
deployed, right ? (or a previous colleague whom you may have taken over).

Never seen that problem BTW - How often does it happen?

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has seen this ?

One of our masters is a windows (Win2k3 r2) media/master server (I know, bad
choice, would love to replace it) which died suddenly. I found that some of
the DLLs have moved into a tmp folder.

It was somewhere like this :
\<install path>\Veritas\NetbackupDB\tmp\win32\file.DLL

When it should have been this:
\<install path>\Veritas\NetbackupDB\win32\file.DLL

I'd like to stop this from happening for obvious reasons, any help would be
great.

Thanks,

Dom
