Hi Marco

So I can understand whats going on here, do you have a dedicated backup
lan for the clients and the media/master server?
If so it may not be the drive or the san connectivity which is the issue.
I had the same at one of my branches.

Firstly can both clients and master/media server resolve its backup
interface. Use nslookup and then reverse it.
Then use bpclntcmd both ways.
If this is all good try ftp'ing a large file from the client to the media
server over the backup lan. This will show whether its the lan or not.
Send the file back to the client over the backup lan too.

If this looks good try using the ip address of the client in the policy
instead of the name. This worked for us, until we were able to fix up
dns/wins.

You may want to create a new storage unit with the ipaddress instead of
the media server name for the purpose of testing.

Let e know how this goes.
