The easier method you're overlooking is that this is all managed by the
Netbackup catalog.
 
tapes are full, pull them from the library and chuck them in the
safe...no labeling needed, or I've NEVER done any.....
 
if the server wants the tape, it tells you the barcode that it needs,
you grab that barcode from the safe and put it in the library.
I've never really had occasion to delve farther into the process than
that.
 
I'm not sure what you're trying to accomplish?????
