VSP can be used for clients that are NOT windows 2003. (ie: Unix, NT, 2000
Servers, ect)
VSS is specifically for Windows 2003 clients - it allows any open files to
be backed up!
I do not use it sadly - was causing grief, especially when the cache filled
up disk space!
My reall suggestion is to read the manuals on the subject.
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/276739.htm about a possible problem
you will get :-)

Subject: [Veritas-bu] VSP vs. VSS
Hi all,
I'm not the expert in Windows backups, so allow me to ask a -
hopefully - simple
question:
Are there any major differences using VSS vs. using VSP? Only a
matter of Windows
OS level?
... besides this, I wonder in what situations it makes sense to use
(whichever) snapshot...
any major disadvantages of not using snapshots at all?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
Mirko
