Why dont you check out
/usr/openv/netbackup/db/media/errors
from there you should be able to see whether the same media is causing you
issues,
you could also grab info from the messages files.

Dave

Mostly media read (85) and write (84) and an occasional media position (86)
error. I suspect I have a drive going but would like to see if the same
tapes are involved also.

Not sure myself unless "tldtest" has a switch for reading the barcode (doubt
it though) , can you not extract info form your messages file.
What kind of problems are you trying to resolve??

Dave

Our environment is HP-UX 11.11, Netbackup 5.1 MP3 backing up mostly HP unix
with some Sun and Windows backups. I know this has come up before but
couldn't find anything in the archives. I'm looking for a command line way
to determine the bar code of a tape when it's in a drive. I'm trying to
gather info to determine if certain tapes are causing problems.
Thanks in advance.
