Hi all,

We have two netbackup domains at different sites, at one site the Master/Media
Server is a Windows 2003 system and at the other site we have an HP-UX 11.11
Master/Media Server. Both Master/Media servers are running Netbackup 6.0MP3
and both have an identical tape device attached. Here is the problem that we
are having... On the Windows Master/Media server all backups work fine,
however on the HP-UX server it is a nother story. Regardless of whether the
backups are going to disk or tape, the HP-UX server gives the same behaviour.
Here is the activity monitor output for an HP-UX backup job:

08/22/2006 22:16:12 - requesting resource testDisk
08/22/2006 22:16:12 - requesting resource hpux.NBU_CLIENT.MAXJOBS.hpux
08/22/2006 22:16:12 - requesting resource hpux.NBU_POLICY.MAXJOBS.TestPol
08/22/2006 22:16:13 - granted resource hpux.NBU_CLIENT.MAXJOBS.hpux
08/22/2006 22:16:13 - granted resource hpux.NBU_POLICY.MAXJOBS.TestPol
08/22/2006 22:16:13 - granted resource testDisk
08/22/2006 22:16:21 - started process bpbrm (pid=9175)
08/22/2006 22:16:21 - connecting
08/22/2006 22:16:29 - started process bpdm (pid=9184)
08/22/2006 22:16:22 - connected; connect time: 0:00:00

The writing process never starts and the job sits here for hours, it never
fails but it never begins to write either. The only thing we're backing up a
this point is a small file, about 30MB. We cannot cancel the job via the
activity monitor, when you attempt to cancel the job via the Activity Monitor,
the job never cancles. It has to be done by killing the process. The target
disk STU exists under / and the "allowed to exist on root" is checked on the
STU properties. The backup destination directory has rwx permissions for
everyone.

We want to make sure we can do a test backup before configuring any other
policies or clients. Any ideas?
