No...definately not the case....duplex is good.
 
The slow down started, then when it didn't pick up after an hour or two,
only then was the system rebooted.
 
BTW, we went through the same discussion with Cisco. Apparantly they've
revised their position WRT Auto-Negotiate, since the wide deployment of
Gigabit Ethernet.

            If the systems were fine, the slowed down after a restart.
I could be that infamous Full/Half duplex mismatch between the NICs and
Switch ports & never permit any server to use "Autodetect".  I've been
burned many a day autodetect and Cisco strongly advises against using
autodetect in a datacenter.  Just my 2 cents.
