As long as you are dealing with only a single stream for your backup,
you should be fine with the notify scripts. The only drawback will be
that a resource (tape) will be defined when the job starts, so if your
notify script takes 3 hours to complete, the drive will be tied up for
that three hours while it waits for the script to stop.
