You can do most of the same with Solaris with a Jumpstart and a flash 
archive.

BMR customizes Jumpstart but you don't need to incur the Gigabytes of the 
flash archive since it uses netbackup to restore the server.

Think of BMR as a quick way of completely restoring a server if one server 
should fail.
